Lighting filters, glass, and mirrors on doors and windows
het Labo Residency
Brooklyn, October 2025
During my residency, I explored new materials for the different windows of the gallery. The location is fantastic, showcasing multiple projections throughout the day.
For the east-facing windows, I installed multiple layers of lighting filters between glass, continuing the approach I've used in past interventions.
The south-facing window is, in a way, an update of interventions done at the priory where I was gluing oval glass on the window panel; it features an outline oval made with silicone without any actual glass adhered to it, along with decorative film ovals floating around.
Both windows are designed for easy removal at the end of my residency. This process has allowed me to identify the best materials and techniques to use for permanent windows or doors in the future.

Don't fail to amaze me the reflections and projections created by the interventions in windows or the sculptures when they are illuminated by the sun, how they fluctuate from two-dimensional to three-dimensional or vice versa.

The projections and shadows on floors and walls creates new works as time passes. The work itself fades to live outside of itself.
It is in this perceived impermanence where the work reside.
